We have collected several maple mouth watering recipes. Because maple syrup is a natural product with no additives, many of the recipes offer a healthy approach to your diet.

Maple Butter Tarts

  • 2 cups(500ml) seedless raisins
  • 2 cups broken pecans
  • 1 1/4 cup maple sugar or 1 1/3 cups brown sugar
  • 2 Tbsp(30ml) flour
  • 6 eggs beaten
  • 1 cup dark corn syrup
  • 1 cup pure maple syrup
  • 2 tsp(10ml) vanilla
  • 3 Tbsp(45ml) butter
  • 36 tart shells
Combine in bowl, starting with liquids, and put in shells. Bake at 375 deg F for about 30 min.

Maple Syrup Pie

  • 3/4 cup brown sugar or 1/2 cup pure maple sugar
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp flour
  • 1 Tbsp(15ml) butter
  • 2 eggs separated
  • 3/4 cup amber maple syrup
  • 1 cup milk or buttermilk
In small mixing bowl, cream together brown sugar, flour, butter and egg yolks. Add maple syrup and milk; stir well. Fold in stiffly beaten egg whites. Pour into unbaked pastry shell. Bake at 350 deg for 45-50 min, until centre of pie is set. At serving time, garnish with whipped cream.

Maple Peanut Brittle

  • 3 Tbsp butter
  • 2/3 cup brown sugar or 1/2 cup pure maple sugar
  • 2 cups med or amber maple syrup
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 1/2 - 2 cups non salted peanuts
Cook maple syrup, butter, salt and sugar in heavy sauce pan until mixture is brittle when tried in water. remove from heat and eat peanuts; turn into 8,8 inch buttered pan. cool slightly and mark in squares.

Mapl Oatmeal Cookies

  • 2 lb. Spareribs
  • 1/2 cup amber maple syrup
  • 2 Tbsp garlic cloves minced
Cook ribs in oven. Marinate in mixture of maple syrup and garlic. Pour over spareribs, stirring occasionally. Bake at 325 deg for 2 hours or as desired. Uncover the last 15 minutes.
****Garlic powder may be used-reduce amount slightly as compared to minced garlic cloves***
